In celebration of Women’s History Month 2021 and International Women’s Day, March 8th, we look at a historical woman who beat the odds and now gives back. Barbara Steinmetz is a Holocaust survivor whose family fled Nazi occupation during WWII in Europe and escaped to the Caribbean with an international refugee organization’s help. Later she immigrated to the U.S. and now gives back to the same organization that helped save her and her family’s lives.
