Meet Chevaughn “Chev” Dixon, the Director of ‘Hudson River Riders,’ a free paddling program offered by the ‘Yonkers Paddling and Rowing Club.’ Their mission is to provide access to the river and develop the next generation of environmental stewards by introducing local youth and community members to an adventure sports lifestyle and exposing them to opportunities in the outdoor industry.

In his video interview, Dixon also offered criticism of a well-known American paddlesports organization and said clubs and boards need multiple diverse perspectives.

Chev’s latest expedition ‘the Hudson Valley Challenge,’ includes running, hiking, biking, kayaking, and stand up paddleboarding the 300-mile round trip of the Hudson Valley Estuary.

---

The expedition’s purpose is curbing violence in black neighborhoods and showing men and youth how to use their time to be active and a positive force in their communities. Dixon will invite clubs and individuals to join him on the expedition.
