Chucky Quartarola has written a story with an important message. First, it’s a tribute to his dad who had served in the Vietnam War. Second, woven into the tale is the pain of watching the gradual debilitation of one of the characters who suffers from Huntington’s Disease. Chucky’s wife is living with this disease and Chucky believes it is easier for people to empathize when they are emotionally connected to a character. Chucky wants to raise awareness, as well as donations to support research into an illness with no known cure at this time. Some portion of the funds from his book will be donated to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
