Terrence Potter has been a fan of fantasy science fiction since he was a boy. However, he could not find any African American heroes. He noticed the lack of diversity and decided to do something about it by creating diverse heroes who were more relatable. The result is his “Black Diamond” series. The stories center on four students who discover they each have magic abilities. The Black Diamond and the Witch’s Curse is the first volume in the series, followed by The Black Diamond and the Magic Box and The Black Diamond Made From the Source. He is currently working on volume 4 and has dreams of seeing these stories on the screen.
