John Quarmby became aware of a ring of sexual abuse in his community when he was renting apartments. What he learned was quite traumatic and he began to journal as a form of therapy where he could discuss the horrors he was hearing. The journal became the book “The Boy Ciaran.” Ciaran suffered from a range of problems, including alcoholism, drugs, criminal activity, and prostitution. Quarmby hopes this book will raise awareness of this problem in communities and demonstrate that there is hope. One can move on. You can compensate, get married, have children like anyone else, and become an example for life and salvation.
