Teaching Children to Have Empathy for Disabled and Different People

Description

When Marilyn Leinenback’s grandnephew Tate needed a cochlear implant, it became the perfect opportunity to introduce other children to what deafness is and how cochlear implants can make a difference. Marilyn and her partner Anne Raymond wrote “Tate and the SuperHear-o Cape” and now present it live with Tate to schools in their local area. Children respond well to the format. Now, Marilyn and Anne have a bigger dream - to bring it to a larger audience.
