What's Your Story?

Description

Karen Johnson comes from a long line of storytellers. Each storyteller chooses the art form, for example, take a story and add a song of your own melody. Storytellers share their stories and then make them their own. The words were done orally before writing them down. 300 years ago, there was no technology so these stories were passed on. And the tradition continues today. It was used with Martin Luther King for social justice and environmental issues. Karen herself shares stories on street corners as a community service, at the Ronald McDonald House. She also had TV show on Connecticut Public Access TV. As a caregiver, the stories provide structure to the elderly. It inspired me. I’m creating my own song. Wouldn’t it be fun to think about your own story and sing a song of You?
